talclark hi Beryl, I just wanted to say that I love your music, and this record. It is a wonderful mix of melancholy, rage, and love. The immediacy of it reminds me of George's first albumn. Wishing you absolutely all the best for your future endeavours, and sending all my love. Tal.

about

Sydney based act Beryl have been writing their intimate and melancholic music since early 2019, when they came together after discovering a mutual love of songwriting. Their unique lyricism and intricate approach to arranging has received praise from listeners and critics alike, with their recent EP and singles premiering on Triple J and FBi Radio, as well as receiving rotation and spins on FBi Radio, SYN, PBS, RRR, RTR, 2SER and independent radio in USA & EUR. A string of sold out launch shows across Sydney in 2019-23 saw the band performing alongside heralded artists including Maple Glider, Husky, Chris Lanzon, Dominic Breen, Indira Elias, Romaeo, Safford, The Wattles, Glenn Hopper and Queenie. The band has performed headline slots at Great Southern Nights, Sydney Fringe Festival and Bitter Sweet Melodies Festival as well as receiving FBi Independent Artist of the Week and 2SER Artist Spotlight.

Following up on the success of their debut EP Keeping score, the band's latest and much anticipated LP Dry Peel Crack expands upon the introspective art-folk style that Beryl are known for, progressing towards a more upbeat, indie-rock influenced approach. Amongst the varied musical stylings of the album, Beryl stay true to their personal lyrical approach, tying the album together through a lyrical exploration of interpersonal relationships and change.

November and December 2023 will see Beryl performing up and down the east coast of Australia to celebrate Dry Peel Crack.
